New Painting

Just finished a new painting. I love the shadow shapes in the foreground, in fact that's what this painting is all about the way light affects objects.

In honor of summer and sunflowers, I've just finished a new painting. I love the shadow shapes in the foreground, in fact that's what this painting is all about the way light affects objects.

Amador County Fair

Fine Feathers c 2007 watercolor and ink

July 30 – August 2, 2009 are the dates this year for the Amador County Fair.  This year I’ll be demonstrating in watercolor on Saturday, August 1 from 10 am – 4 pm.

I did not enter the fair fine art competition, but will have some work with me, as well as class information, fine art cards and my portfolio.  Please come and watch me paint.

Every year the Amador County Fair has a wonderful fine art and photography competition.  The same building, Pokerville Hall, houses beautiful quilts and crafts.

Amador Stars Window 2009

Stars Fair Window 2009 054

The Amador Stars Window at the Amador County Fair, 2009…  ”It’s a Grape Time to Hukilau!”

It’s  a challenge  to come up with something that fits the county fair theme, and to incorporate our organization, and still be enjoyable for the crowd at the fair.  I love doing it!

Thanks to my team for all their help:  Nancy, Carol, Teresa, Rita and her granddaughter, Olivia, and my dad, Ken for technical and structural engineering.
