It’s always nice to have a fresh start, and that’s what the new year feels like to me. I’m taking down the Christmas stuff today and cleaning up.

Soon I’ll start working on my end of the year bookwork… yuck!

I’ll also be starting drawings for new paintings for my show in the Bay Area

And… filling my schedule with more classes

I’ll have a new painting for you to see within a couple of days.  In the meantime, here’s  some photos from my Christmas in Jackson, CA

Our focus will be  portraits and animals, your choice.  Anything from children to adults,  (close-up or distant) to a favorite animal (wild or domestic) is fine.  Even a fantasy painting would be fine like my mermaid.  Come prepared with photo references.   You may use magazine or personal photos.

During the 3 days you’ll learn my glazing methods and color palette.  I’ll demonstrate painting eyes, hair/fur, clothing and backgrounds.

Markleeville is a beautiful spot in the foothills of the Eastern Sierra.  You’ll have a wonderful time meeting new artist friends, enjoying beautiful scenery, learning and painting.

September 17th & 18th, (10am – 4pm)

This weekend,  Amador County Artists will open their studios to the public.  I’m proud to have my home studio on the tour.  One of my former teachers, Sabina Turner, is on the tour, as well as many other fine artists in the area.

Amador County is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California.  My hometown is Jackson and my home studio is conveniently located.
