I’m proud to be the current guest artist at Evelyn Yonker’s Markleeville Art Gallery May 7 – June 21st, 2011. Evelyn’s gallery is located in the charming Northern California town of Markleeville on the east side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains off Highway 88.  All of the artists showing their work in the gallery live withing 50 miles of the gallery.

From June 21 – 25, 2011, Evelyn will be hosting a plein air event at her gallery featuring local scenery and local artists.

Amador County Fair July 28 – 31

I will be creating a display window for the 3^rd year in a row for the Amador Stars, our local cancer support organization.

The fair theme this year is “Dancing with the Steers”!  Oh boy!  I have lots of ideas!

I will also be entering my work in the Fine Art Competition and doing a demonstration for the fair goers on one of the days of the fair… TBA

April 30 & May 1, 2011

This year’s Release Party at Young’s Vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley of California.  They will be featuring my 3 new wine label designs.  I’m so proud of these.  They came out so nice!    I’ll be signing wine bottles and prints both days and will have a few paintings, prints and greeting cards for sale as well.

Owner, Annette Young, is well known for throwing a great wine tasting bash each year, complete with tasty food and good music.  Hope to see you there!

Here is the whimsical painting we worked on to practice some techniques and a limited palette.

Here’s a new painting…  a sweet little still life.  I’m not sure of the title yet.  So far I’m calling it “Egg Shells and Gems” (c2011, watercolor, 12″ x 12″), but, we’ll see if that sticks.  It’s not a very catchy title.  Sometimes a title just comes naturally and easily, sometimes I put a title on and am never quite satisfied with it.

I’ve tried to capture light moving in, on, and through delicate objects.  I love the way each area is affected by the light and by the surrounding objects.  It was a wonderful challenge. Hope you enjoy it!

I’m thinking, now, that I’ll call it “Glass Effects”.  What do you think?

Since I had to cancel the workshop scheduled in February due to snow and power outages, I’ve rescheduled the Pine Grove workshop for March 18 & 19, another Friday and Saturday.  I hope many of you will be able to attend.  We have a large space with a table for each student.
